"Many thanks to all the organisers at the event, the day was very beneficial for Officeworx"

"I was disappointed that not all stands had electricity. I had requested it and was surprised that I could not have it."

"Well done - thank you"

"Overall a good feel to the event with most attendees/exhibitors leaving the event happy."

"I am impressed with Tewkesbury BC in the way they positively support the SMEs in the locality. The recent Small Business Grant proved to be an excellent initiative as we developed a marketing tool (Slate Coasters with our logo) which has proven to be highly successful. We would not have undertaken this without the grant. The seminars provide SMEs with an important cohesion as a business community"

"This was our first networking event and gave us the opportunity to promote our business within the Tewkesbury borough catchment area."

"Relaxed, informal and well organised. Like the format for lunch i.e. sharing info. "

"Having the opportunity to meet and talk to new business contacts. "

"Networking opportunities. I thought the organisation of the lunch was superb and overall much improved on last year."

"The event was structured very well and allowed myself and the rest of the officeworx team to network successfully throughout the day. The lunch set-up was very good and allowed everyone the chance to give an informal presentation within a small group of people which was very beneficial for less confident people at the event like ourselves."

"The ability to network and to hopefully pick up new business "

having a networking co-ordinator at the table helped.

"Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. "

"The event was generally so well organised"

"Plenty of space and ease of dealing with the 'powers that be'. Freedom to operate without 'red tape'. The lunch networking organisation was first rate. "

"The chance to network which was the main reason for attending. The problem with the stands was that we had already got everything in place to run our business so a lot of the stands although nice to talk to we did not need."

TEWKESBURY BOROUGH’S THIRD BUSINESS EVENT IS A STORMING SUCCESS

More than 150 people attended a business networking event organised by Tewkesbury Borough Council in partnership with Smartline International Ltd on 16 November 2011.

The third Tewkesbury B2B event took place in the stunning surroundings of Sudeley Castle at Winchcombe and delegates enjoyed a range of seminars, the opportunity to network over lunch and the chance to build new contacts.

Business people were welcomed by Tewkesbury Borough Council's Mayor and lead member for Economic Development and Promotion, Councillor Dave Waters, followed by a series of short talks focused on business growth in the borough.

There was also a seminar on using social media by digital marketing consultant Tim Davies of Copper Phoenix as well as the opportunity to visit the wide range of exhibitors and local organisations present at the event.

An update was also provided by David Owen, the Chief Executive of GFirst, which is the organisation driving the Local Enterprise Partnership for Gloucestershire

Mr Waters said: "The B2B events continue to offer local businesses vital support and advice, while opening up opportunities to meet potential new clients.

"I was very pleased with the number of people who turned up. It is very important for the council to do these kind of events."

"We can help bring businesses together in a partnership. It gives them a chance to share ideas and practices."

Initial evaluation survey responses show that 100% of delegates would consider attending B2B events in the future.
